Amazon owned smart security specialist Blink has announced the arrival of Blink Moments; a new feature whereby you’ll be able to combine clips from multiple Blink cameras in order to create a multi-perspective videos.
It’s an idea not too dissimilar to the AI cross-camera tracking technology that Eufy introduced last year.
The premise is, for example, you could see a burglar break your front door down, ransack your living room, leave a dirty calling card in your kitchen sink, and then smash his way out of the back door and over the garden fence… all in one easy-to-view clip.
Or, from a less terrifying perspective, you could see a combined video clip of your kid arriving safely home from school through the front door, then making herself a snack in the kitchen and finally playing football in the garden.
It’s like having your own security officer on the job 24/7, except this one won’t miss key events while playing Candy Crush on his phone.
As with Eufy’s offering, Blink Moments is a premium affair, with a Blink Plus Plan Subscription needed to get in on the action, which costs $10 / £8 a month, or $100 / £80 per year.
Blink Moments works with all current and older generations of Blink’s battery-powered and plug-in cameras, such as the Blink Mini 2 or the original Blink Mini.
It’s rolling out now and will be available to everyone in “the coming weeks.”
