There have been so many negative stories coming out of Sonos in the past few weeks that it’s been hard to keep up.
However, we’ve finally got a bit of good news from the Santa Barbara speaker giant as one of the key features from the Sonos Ace headphones has just become available for lot more users.
At launch, the Sonos Ace’s TV Audio Swap feature was only available for iOS users who had the Sonos Arc soundbar; but now it’s available to users of the Sonos Beam (both generations) and the Sonos Ray.
It’s also available for the first time to Android users.
TV Audio Swap is a feature that lets you to transfer audio between your soundbar and your Sonos Ace headphones.
You need to have set the feature up in the Sonos app, after which you can either use the Sonos app or press and hold the Content Key on the right ear cup of your Sonos Ace headphones to switch audio between Arc and the soundbar.
If you use the Sonos app, you have the option to switch head tracking on or off, as well as Spatial Audio on or off, depending on your preferences.
Sonos has been massively under fire as of late, with the launch of the Sonos Ace headphones landing with a mixed reception, on the back of a disastrous roll out of a new Sonos app.
At the end of July, Sonos CEO Patrick Spence penned an open letter to users, apologizing for “disappointing you.”
However, in recent weeks Sonos has been consistently updating the app to fix the issues and has laid out a roadmap to get the brand back to the levels expected by its loyal user base.
With a couple of potentially exciting launches on the horizon, including a much anticipated new flagship soundbar, Sonos users will be hoping that the tide is starting to turn.
